How do I get a paper catalog?

We no longer print paper catalogs. Until recently, DisasterStuff.com printed and shipped survival kit catalogs with many of our products. However, as our product line increased and the internet became more available, we made a decision to provide product information on-line only, reducing operating costs and in turn allowing us to keep our prices some of the lowest on the internet.

How do I submit my purchase order?

DisasterStuff.com accepts purchase orders, NET 25 only, from businesses and government organizations. Please follow the steps below when submitting a Purchase Order.

  1. Create an account on the DisasterStuff.com web site.
  2. Select the items you wish to purchase with the PO.
  3. Choose Check Out and follow the steps until you reach the payment option.
  4. Choose Purchase Order as the payment type.
  5. Enter the purchase order number and submit the order.
  6. IMPORTANT: After submitting the order email your PO in PDF format to orders at disasterstuff.com replacing that word at with the @ symbol. Please do not email the purchase order until after you have completed steps 1 through 5 as your emailed purchase order will not have and order in our system to be associated with.

Credit Card Processing and Security

DisasterStuff.com accepts the following credit cards and payment systems:

Credit card charges will appear on your statement as a charge from: R C Canning Enterprises, LLC. If you have a question about a charge, please give us a call.

DisasterStuff.com maintains a secure SSL certificate from Norton Secure Seal. This certificate, combined with EV SSL encryption of your information is designed to insure safe shopping. Always make sure that your URL address begins with an https:// before you submit information. This tells you that your information is being encrypted for security.

When a card is declined and payment is not made via another method agreed upon by you and our accounts payable department, we reserve the right to continue to attempt to charge your card until such time that your credit card does not decline the amount due. It is your responsibility to inform us of changes to your credit card worthiness.

How long will it take my order to ship?

Our normal order processing time is two business days to pick your order from the warehouse and three business days for shipping via UPS Ground. We reserve the right to change shipping methods if we find that the order will ship faster or if we deem using a particular carrier affords us lower handling costs. Often the process is faster, but we want to be realistic with you. There are some areas where USPS is faster than UPS, and we will manually process the shipping and consider any overage on shipping charges as a handling fee as it is outside our normal shipping system. Also, during times of high demand after a disaster, availability and shipping times can increase delivery by as much as two weeks or more depending on the carrier and demand on our shipping department. If you have not received your shipment within seven working days, you should contact customer support for an update. The best way to get a response is to log in to your account and post a question about your order. These questions are order faster then phone messages and you will have a record of what is happening. When shipping UPS, you must confirm within 30 days of your order if you have not received your product. If we receive confirmation from UPS that your order was shipped and delivered and you do not contact us to tell us otherwise, it makes it nearly impossible to track down what has happened.

Receipt of Goods via Shipper and Your Responsibility

You are responsible for calling us and requesting signature required. By default we do not ship signature required. If you do not request signature required, you are responsible for any lost or stolen goods delivered via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. If you are missing a package, you can log in to your account and get the tracking number or check your email for the tracking number we sent. Please contact the carrier and provide the tracking number and request a trace.

If you have misplaced your information, you can either click on Login and request a lost password, or you can email shipping at disasterstuff.com and the tracking number will be returned to your within 24 hours.

Why can't I return food products?

Federal law prohibits us from taking back any food products once they have been shipped. This includes but is not limited to food ration bars, water pouches, freeze dry foods, and any other packaged food product.

This law was enacted to protect consumers from tainted foods or foods that have been altered for terrorist purposes. Unfortunately, there are NO exceptions to this policy.

EMP Bags

Due to the nature of EMP bags, we cannot refund them once they have been shipped. It is very costly to re-certify them after delivery.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Returns Policy

Shipping emergency preparedness supplies can be costly due to freight charges associated with the weight of survival food, water and other equipment. Failure to observe the DisasterStuff.com return policy can significantly increase the cost of returns. To insure the best return experience, please observe the following:

  • ALL food sales and Water Filter Sales are final.
  • Inspect your shipment for damage and report any damage to us within 5 days.
    • Visible Damage - This is damage to the package such as dents, holes, fork lift marks, removed tape, or any other indication that there may be concealed damage. Record visible damage on the packaging materials buy asking the driver to make notes prior to signing for the package.
    • Concealed Damage - This is damage to the merchandise inside the packaging material.
    • Incorrect Pricing - DisasterStuff.com reserves the right to refund the purchase price of any item incorrectly advertised on our shopping cart due to input errors or other errors that may occur. DisasterStuff.com is not liable for any amount beyond the amount paid for an item and will gladly refund the purchase price for that item. In many cases, but not all, we will issue the refund and allow the customer to keep the item that was mispriced or described incorrectly.
  • RMA's - Returns are only accepted with a valid RMA number. Request an RMA number ONLY by logging into "My Account", choose "View Previous Orders" and click on the order number that you would like to request an RMA for. Request the RMA. RMA requests are usually filled within 72 hours. Please remember that:
    • Return Material Authorizations (RMA) for undamaged goods must be received within 10 calendar days of product delivery. There is a 20% restocking fee for all undamaged goods returns. We cannot accept returns beyond 10 calendar days from the date of purchase.
    • RMA numbers expire after 15 days from the date of issuance. Returns with an expired RMA will be refused.
    • Refunds on orders can take up to 30 days or less from the time we receive your return with correlating RMA.

Items returned without an RMA and left without a signature required will not be accepted and return shipping will need to be secured prior to items being returned to you. Please do not ship anything back to us without prior approval.

All sales are final after 30 days.

Free Shipping Policy

Items marked as Free Shipping ship free to the lower 48 states. Items marked Free Shipping that will be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii are NOT calculated at the time of checkout due to system restraints. We will contact you with the total shipping charges and bill you separately prior to shipping. On all Berkey water filter systems, DisasterStuff.com will split the cost of shipping to Alaska and Hawaii and you will be billed separately. We reserve the right, under any circumstances, to revoke free shipping offers if errors in listings or shipping calculations create a net loss for DisasterStuff.com.

It is important to note that our cart only charges shipping on items that do not ship for free. Therefore, if you add two "free shipping" items to your cart and three items that do require shipping, our system will not include the "free shipping" items in your overall bill. It will only bill you for items that do require that shipping be charged. We have to do this because we had people order a $2 dollar washer that ships for free and then order a SuperTanker water tank that requires and average $189 shipping charge on the same order and asking why the order didn't ship for free. We would kind of like to stay in business if you know what we mean!
