Black Berkey Water Filter Customer Reviews

says "I've bought two Berkey systems from Bob at Disaster Stuff on two separate occasions. One for myself and one for my mother-in-law. Each time I've dealt with Bob for the water system, filter replacements, warranty on filters, questions, etc., he has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and fast with his service. The systems speak for themselves but the service is the reason he's the prefered vendor. Strongly recommend Disaster Stuff!"

"Berkley Water Filter or Berkey Water Filter?"

Product Review:

I'm on the "Berkley" page and hit a link that says "Black Berkley" and arrive at a page that is now calling it a Black Berkey...no "L" and then listen to a video where the guy is pronouncing the product as a Black Berkey...no "L". Do you mean to tell me it's gotten so bad that we can't get a consensus on the very NAME of the product? Is there a 'bait and switch' going on here? Is it a different product? , the incompetence...everywhere one looks...it leaves one begging for competence to come from somewhere!

Customer Service Response: For years people have been getting the name of Berkey Water filters incorrect, referring to it as the Berkeley, as well as several other variations.  To eliminate this problem for people who are doing search engine searches for the product, we have purposely misspelled the name in several places so that people can find what they are looking for.  It has helped many people over the years.  We are sorry this caused confusion for you.  The correct name is Berkey Water filter.  Sometimes things that appear to stem from incompetence can actually be an attempt to compensate for a misunderstanding.  Don't get us wrong, we know that we live in an imperfect world and thet people do make mistakes, and we must be patient and forgiving for that, but in this case, it was intended.  :-)

Product Review: Question: Your review doesn't tell how often these filters should be replaced. I have one and I live alone ... when should I replace my filter?  Oh, and I could not live without my Berkey water filter.

Customer Service Response:
Chloe, each Black Berkey filters 3,000 gallons under city water conditions. That is 6,000 gallons per set or 16.5 gallons per day for a year. Most households can go two or three years.
