The Katadyn Hiker water filter is a .3 micron glass fiber activated carbon water filter. It is one of the most popular backpacking water filters on the market today and a great solution to providing survival water from water sources that may have become contaminated. This water filter is ideal for 72 hour kits and bug out bags where a light weight compact water filter is vital.
The Katadyn Vario water filter is a compact three stage water filter that uses a glass fiber filter, ceramic pre-filter, and charcoal to remove contaminants and bad odors down to .3 microns. Used with the glass fiber filter and charcoal, the filter can do 2 liters of drinking water per minute. Add the ceramic pre-filter disk for highly turbid water to extend the life of the glass fiber charcoal filter. This filter can be screwed on to the top of a standard Katadyn water bottle for water storage while pumping.
