Practicing this simple recipe will give you confidence that you can make it on your own if the need arises!
On the right you will see a few products that should be stored for future use. These products are inexpensive, can be found at the local market, and last for years. A two year supply for a family of five can cost less that $50 if you shop smart!

How to Make Laundry Soap

Making your own Laundry Soap Items need for making laundry soap are: -
Super washing soda -
Borax -
Bar of Soap ( Ivory is fine, but we like natural bar soap from health food market)

Cheese Grater -
Pot to boil water -
Bucket of at least 2.5 to 5 gallons. -
Use the cheese grater to grate 1 bar of soap. -
In a pan add grated soap and 6 cups water and heat over a medium or low flame. Do not boil. Allow ALL soap to melt into water. This takes 30-40 minutes but don't cheat because you really need to have ALL of the soap melted. -
Once all the soap is melted: -
Add 3/4 cup of Super Washing Soda -
Add 3/4 cup of Borax -
After every thing has disolved, Add 4 Cups HOT water in a bucket and add the soap mixture and allow everything to mix and disolved in the bucket. -
Stir in 1 1/2 gallons cool water. -
Use 1 /2 cup per load. The mixture will gel up as it cools. That is normal. It is estimated that this mixture will do the laundry for a family of two adults and one child for three months.
