Working with 55 gallon water barrels and 5 gallon buckets can be an easy task if you have the right tools. If you don't have the right tools, you can hurt yourself and cause damage to your barrels and lids. Our Bung Wrench Lid Lifter tool is designed to be used on the following products:- Mauser 55 gallon water barrels
- Contico 55 gallon water barrels
- Griff 55 gallon water barrels
- Contico 5 gallon food grade buckets
- Contico 6 gallon food grade buckets
- API Kirk 5 gallon food grade buckets
- API Kirk 6 gallon food grade buckets
- M&M 5 gallon food grade buckets
- M&M 6 gallon food grade buckets
Most high density polyethylene (HDPE) water storage barrels come with plastic bung caps installed. There are usually two types of bung caps, fine tread and coarse thread. This bung wrench will remove both of these.
The lid lifter will remove all lids from the 5 gallon buckets listed above. Please note that you will need to remove the FDA tamper evident tear strip on your lid before using the lid lifter tool. Removing this tear strip does NOT change the effectiveness of your buckets seal and your lids can be reused with not problem.
